Mini Car Key & Fob Replacement
Mini Cooper key trouble? We program Mini fobs and cut emergency blades at your location across North Dallas, usually the same day and well under what the dealer asks.
A mobile locksmith handles most Mini Cooper key jobs on-site: the slot-style fobs on 2007-2013 cars, proximity push-to-start fobs on 2014-and-newer F-series Minis, and spare keys while you still have a working one. Minis run BMW-derived security, so we are upfront on the phone about the few cases that are dealer territory.
Mini Keys & Fobs
Mini runs BMW-group electronics under the retro shell. Early R50/R53 Coopers (2002-2006) use an EWS transponder key. The R56 generation (2007-2013) moved to the round slot fob, where the key pushes into a dash slot and the car reads it from there. F-series Minis (2014 and up) run a proximity push-to-start fob with comfort access on higher trims. Adding a spare to a working key is straightforward on most years; an all-keys-lost on the newest cars can require factory-level ISN handling, and when a specific year falls into that bucket we say so on the phone rather than experiment at your expense. Every fob is coded to your VIN, and the emergency blade is cut by code.
Lost every Mini key? On most model years we can still build one from the VIN at the car. On some newer F-series cars an all-keys-lost is genuinely a dealer job, so we check your year and VIN on the call and tell you straight which side of the line you're on, before any trip charge.
